A native Texan, Vici grew up in Muskogee, Oklahoma, where her father worked for the ATF and her mother was an elementary school teacher. From there she moved East to attend The University of Virginia where she graduated with a degree in English.
Post college years brought Vici to Alexandria. It was an instant and easy match. The friendliness of the residents, the numerous independent businesses and the sense of community were a happy surprise, and now more than 35 years later, Vici is still devoted to her adopted hometown.
After early stints in the Federal Government and local retail, Vici began her real estate career. Working for a Washington, DC developer in the early 1980's provided a wonderful and broad education. It was a time of growth and change in the DC area. Interest rates were sky high and every project was exciting but challenging. For Vici, it was an opportunity to watch a team of bright people take projects from the idea stage through planning, financing, building and finally leasing or selling.
By 1984 Vici was ready to make the move to residential brokerage. It was not long before she took the opportunity to join McEnearney Associates, where she happily assists buyers, sellers, landlords and tenants at all price points. Whether it is a first purchase, a move up or a downsize, Vici’s clients rely on her knowledge and care for helping conduct their real estate transitions.
Vici is honored to have been selected by her peers to serve on the McEnearney Associates Advisory Board, and she regularly mentors new agents in the firm. She is recognized by NVAR as a lifetime member in both the Top Producer and Multi-million Dollar Sales Clubs. With a deep appreciation for antique houses, Vici is a graduate of the National Trust for Historic Preservation program for marketing and selling historic properties.
In 2008, Vici was joined in business by her son, Clay Burke, who is a resident of Washington, DC. Together with long-time friend and colleague, Sissy Zimmerman, a resident of Old Town Alexandria, they formed the Burke-Boguess-Zimmerman Group. With more than 70 years of residential sales experience, the BBZ Group works across Northern Virginia and Washington, DC. where individually and collectively, they are known for their depth of market knowledge, attention to detail and cooperative style.
Vici is an avid gardener and a longtime member of The Garden Club of Alexandria. After years on a waiting list, she is pleased to be tending a Fairfax County garden plot where she grows heirloom vegetables. A novice, but enthusiastic landscape painter, Vici spends many Monday afternoons in the company of fellow Art League students painting at Alexandria's Torpedo Factory Art Center.
Vici and her husband Tom live in the Wellington neighborhood on the banks of The Potomac. They enjoy traveling and spending time with their eccentric dog, Casey.
